Hong Kong man caught trying to smuggle 94 iPhones into China

A Hong Kong man was caught by Chinese customs for trying to smuggle 94 iPhones into China. The man attached the Apple iPhone 5, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus models onto his torso and legs using plastic bags and masking tape. Customs officials at Futian Port noticed the man when he was walking with a weird posture and stiff joints.
The 94 iPhones are estimated to be over 300,000 yuan (S$64,500). Although iPhones are available in China, the supplies are usually limited. The high tax rate in China also make it more expensive than Hong Kong.
But isn’t it irony? The iPhones were made in China, exported to Hong Kong then smuggled back into China.
