OCBC bank launch biometric authentication on mobile banking app

OCBC Bank customers can now easily check their bank balances on their smartphone at the touch of a finger. Using Apple’s Touch ID, OCBC OneTouch allow customers to see their bank balances using fingerprint recognition as log-in. This is the latest in a series of digital innovations by OCBC Bank, which continues to lead in the financial digital space.

OCBC OneTouch enhances the customer experience for mobile banking users by making it easier and quicker for them to check bank balances – both assets and liabilities. Such checks make up about 60% of all mobile banking transactions. To perform banking transactions other than balance enquiry, customer have to log in to Mobile Banking using their access code and PIN.
This service is available for iOS devices that incorporate Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensors with iOS 8 or above.
To get started, customers need to perform a one-time activation by keying in their OCBC Mobile Banking access code and PIN. Thereafter, within the Mobile Banking app, customers only need to place their finger on the home button to view their account balances. All account numbers displayed are partially masked with only the last 4 digits of the account number revealed.
