Razer partnering NETS to launch Razer Pay

Razer recently announced that it is partnering with the NETS Group to launch Razer Pay in Singapore by first quarter of 2019.
Razer and NETS are working to enable Razer Pay acceptance on NETS unified POS terminals, with the goal of enabling full interoperability by the time Razer Pay launches in Singapore in Q1 2019.
The NETS network currently includes 40,000 Unified POS terminals and 55,000 QR acceptance points.
In addition to NETS, brands such as Reebonz, Sistic, SP Group, and WTS Travel are also working with Razer to integrate its e-payment capabilities into their systems. For example, Razer is working with SP Group to integrate payment directly within the Razer Pay app – no scanning of QR code necessary. In this way, users can experience unprecedented convenience and ease of payment for their utility bills. Similarly, customers will also be able to pay Sistic when buying tickets.
Razer Pay users in Singapore will also enjoy gaming and digital entertainment offerings, such as Steam Wallet codes, Blizzard balance PINs, and Sony PlayStation PINs.
In other news, Razer Pay inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based digital security firm V-Key Pte Ltd to foster strategic collaboration over digital identity and e-payments. Under the agreement, V-Key will look into providing leading technology to support and facilitate the highest standards of authentication and security for Razer Pay, and across the entire Razer ecosystem at large.
Razer also announced that it is collaborating with UOB’s fintech accelerator the FinLab to develop a proof-of-concept (POC) to test cross-border remittance using blockchain technology. The blockchain-based POC aims to improve operational efficiency by increasing the transparency and speed of cross-border remittances.
